Every year over 3,000 descend upon the Bladensburg Waterfront Park to celebrate Port Towns Day. Boat rides, live bands, stage performers, dozens of vendors, children's games, and a rock climbing wall are just some of the attractions that pull visitors in from near and far. In addition, Port Towns Day brings new business opportunities, customers, and sales to our local businesses.
The Port Towns Day 2009 is coming up fast! On September 19th the Port Towns Community will once again come together in a show of community pride and fun. This year's theme is "Go Natural, You're Organic" and will feature information on staying healthy and living green. Special discounts will also be given to healthy and green vendors. "It's easy. And it's like a big celebration," said Tonya Russell, a Washington, D.C. resident. Sonji Russell, sister and Cottage City resident, exclaimed "We love it here. It's a good thing, to do stuff like this, to help keep the kids off the streets and bring families together…They should really do it more often."
